A Place for Writing: Language Cultivation and Literacy in the Seri Community
Abstract
Writing is only recently gaining ground in the Seri community. Interest is now being shown in the way that writing permits the expression, documentation and sharing of a rich cultural heritage. The development of writing in the language provides another support for a language and culture that has survived centuries of pressures from external forces.
